Ink "got in her blood" in college where she worked as production manager and editor of The Holcad and managing editor of The Argo, the newspaper and yearbook of Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA.
Her next stop was the New Castle News where she worked as a reporter. She married staff photographer Dave Breen, and they moved to Plainfield, Indiana to publish a small twice-weekly newspaper, The Plainfield Messenger.
The pair moved back to PA in the mid-80s. Cindy took a position as advertising manager for an insurance company, and Dave opened his photo studio. Cindy purchased Atlas Printing Co. in 1988.
